Hancock 2: Peter Berg Updates The Sequel

It’s bound to happen soon. Director Peter Berg¬†talks directly about a Hancock 2. With Hancock¬†being such a box office hit, I’m surprised it hasn’t happened earlier. Even with it reaching only 40% on Rotten Tomatoes it still was able to cash in $227 million in the domestic box office with another $396 million overseas. That’s a ton of profit considering the production budget was $150 million.

Well here is what Berg had to say about Hancock 2.

“We’ve been talking about the sequel between us, Will Smith, [producers] Michael Mann and Akiva Goldman and myself. We’re all interested, but we literally just have trouble getting into the same room at the same time. We did have a series of meetings last year and started to hash out an idea for sequel — and Will Smith actually had the idea — so I think it will happen, it’s just a question of timing.”

So what do you think about a possible Hancock 2? Did you like the first one enough to think it deserves a sequel?
