2014 is a long ways away, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start hyping Monsters director Gareth Edwards‘ Godzilla reboot that he’s working on over at Legendary Pictures.
News broke the other day of Frank Darabont working on retooling a script after several crew members were let go from their contracts due to them being too nitpicky or demanding or whatever. I think it had something to do with wanting more (or getting less) money than what was agreed on, but it shouldn’t (and probably won’t) mess with the film’s eventual outcome.
What will mess with it is the possibility of two new monsters being added to the mix, in addition to the already confirmed (DUH!) Godzilla.
Tim Kelly over at CHUD got the exclusive scoop that not only mentions the two monsters, but also that the film’s story will follow a soldier.
I’m digging it and I’ve already been sold since Edwards was first announced as director. Legendary and WB are kicking their monster-fueled movies into high gear with Guillermo del Toro‘s Pacific Rim crashing into theaters this summer and then Edwards’ Godzilla sometime next year.
Are you ready for ’em?
