The initial teaser trailer for Rick Alverson‘s The Comedy, starring Tim Heidecker didn’t reveal much of the story or characters, but it did promise us a bizarre film that is far from anything Tim Heidecker has ever done before. This new full-length trailer backs that up, despite his frequent collaborator Eric Wareheim budding in from time-to-time.
It’s no secret that I absolutely hate the Tim & Eric Show, but I’m very intrigued by this trailer, mostly Heidecker’s deadpan performance and the blunt comedy that trickles through. This looks like something that digs down a little deeper than what we’d expect from Tim or Eric and I’m fully ready to embrace it.
The Comedy opens on VOD on October 23rd followed by a theatrical release on November 9th, 2012.
