First Trailers for ‘The Campaign’ Starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis

As you can see from the campaign posters above, The Campaign looks like it’s going to be hilarious.  We’ve heard a lot about the script by Chris Henchy and Shawn Harwell, but we haven’t seen anything from the film up to this point.  Now, along with these two promo images, comes two different trailers, both political ads for the characters in the film.

I think they’re both hilarious, but you can check them out for yourself.  Will Ferrell plays Cam Brady, a wealthy moron (shades of his character Ashley Schaeffer from Eastbound and Down shine through) who is a typical politician, no hope of understanding the common man, but he thinks that’s what will make him a good leader.  See his trailer below:

Next, Zach Galifianakis plays his rival Marty Huggins, who is a much smaller character, but similar to characters Galifianakis has played on his talk show Between Two Ferns.  Either way, he looks hilarious as well, and I’m sure he’ll have plenty of weird and creepy moments.

The iffiest bit of the whole thing is director Jay Roach, who can be hit or miss, but it looks like he has this one licked.  It’s not rated yet, but you’ll be able to see it August 10th, 2012, just in time for the heating up of election season.
