Warm Bodies may look like something to come from the Twilight phenomena, and the fact that it’s based on a book doesn’t help to quell the fears of those who hate the werewolf/vampire love triangle. The first trailer for Warm Bodies has hit the net, and for those unfamiliar with the films of Jonathan Levine, the trailer will remind movie fans that not everything is what it seems sometimes.
Although 50/50 was the first major release of one of Levine’s films, he has had many critical successes in the past, with films like All the Boys Love Mandy Lane and The Wackness. The first trailer for Warm Bodies shows just how different the film will be from other supernatural love stories. The film stars Nicholas Hoult as R, a zombie that can think and feel, so when he sees Julie (Teresa Palmer), his undead life changes, as he is able to convince Julie he won’t eat her, and the two begin to hit it off as well as a zombie and a human can.
The trailer showcases the humor in the film, and also shows off some of the zombie action, as well as showing John Malkovich‘s role as Julie’s father. The movie will open February 1st, 2013. Check out the trailer, set to music by The Black Keys. The film is based on the novel by Issac Marion.
