Matthew Vaughn found something special with Kingsman: The Secret Service. He managed to both pay homage to the earlier Bond films, while also creating his own modern day spy/espionage series, fusing cool gadgetry with well-shot action and globe-trotting.

Kingsman: The Secret Service did so well that Fox demanded a sequel, which Vaughn brought to the table by going just a tad too over-the-top, with Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

I consider the first one a near-perfect film, while the sequel is mostly just more of the same, to a lessening effect, but still an entertaining film that features some of the best action sequences to appear on-screen.

Now, Vaughn wants some of the cinematic universe money and is setting up a prequel film, titled The King’s Man — is it me or does this series have one of the weirdest naming conventions?

Ralph Fiennes stars, as well as Rhys Ifans.

This trailer doesn’t give us much, but it looks….interesting?
