There are very few directors these days that we can absolutely count on. Practically every single filmmaker working in the field today has given us a dud or two at some point throughout their career aside from one filmmaker by the name of Quentin Tarantino.
Tarantino’s films are never bad, with only a few of them registering as below masterpieces. The guy just loves cinema and knows how it works on a fundamental level and that translates to amazing films that constantly surprise, impress and amaze all.
Tarantino’s last film was Django Unchained, which is probably my favorite film of his if we’re excluding Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction — although I’m sort of partial to Death Proof.
Now, Tarantino is back in the Western genre and he’s bringing with him Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and a few others that can be seen in this beard-heavy trailer for his latest film The Hateful Eight.
I’ll admit that this first trailer sort of took me be surprise, with my excitement levels going all across the board. I’m not as on board as I was for Django just yet, but I feel like time and space will definitely help fix that.
The Hateful Eight rolls into select 70mm-capable theaters on Christmas day, with a wider expansion to follow.
