First Trailer For ‘Prisoners’ Starring Hugh Jackman And Jake Gyllenhaal

After being in development for years, the crime drama Prisoners from Incendies director Denis Villeneuve is finally arriving in theaters this fall. The script, written by Aaron Guzikowski, captured attention in Hollywood and ended up on the blacklist before being produced. The first official trailer for the film has arrived online and it looks fantastic. Check it out below.

Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver (Paul Dano), but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect’s release. Knowing his child’s life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?

I must say, this film looks extremely impressive. The twist of the father taking matters into his own hands is bound to lead to nerve-wracking results. The film co-stars Terrence Howard, Maria Bello, Viola Davis, and Melissa Leo.

Prisoners is going to be arriving in theaters on September 20th, 2013. It’s expected that this film will play at the Toronto International Film Festival before its theatrical run. What do you think of the trailer?
