First Trailer For Oren Peli’s Chernobyl Diaries

Ever since directing Paranormal Activity, Oren Peli has had his hand in just about every successful found-footage film. He was involved with the Paranormal sequels as well as Insidious and the TV show The River. His latest producing effort is Chernobyl Diaries, which is directed by VFX man Bradley Parker.

The film follows a group of people that go into the abandoned radioactive city in search of something to get on camera. The film looks to be following Chronicle in the way it is presented, with most of the footage actually looking pretty clean and steady for being a found-footage flick. The first trailer has been released and it doesn’t look all that good. The scares come exactly when you’d think they would and we don’t get any real look at the radioactive “things” that are haunting them.

I’m thinking it will end up being a cross between The Hills Have Eyes and Apollo 18 probably more Apollo 18 now that I stop and think about it.

Chernobyl Diaries opens on May 25th, 2012.
