Paramount Pictures has finally debuted the fantastic first trailer for The Wolf of Wall Street, the latest film by legendary Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese. The film marks the fifth collaboration between Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio. Check out the trailer below.
The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire writer Terence Winter wrote the screenplay based on Jordan Belfort’s 2008 memoir. The film chronicles the rise and fall of Belfort (DiCaprio), a hard-partying and drug-addicted New York stockbroker in the 1980s who lives the party life with the millions he makes. In 1998, Belfort was indicted for security fraud and money laundering.
While the trailer leaves out the federal drama, it serves more as an introduction to Belfort’s drug-hazed parties and theatrics with his Wall Street colleagues. Leave it to Scorsese to surprise, as I clearly wasn’t expecting this film to look as brilliantly crazy as it does. It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun but I’d expect there will be more drama that clearly hasn’t been presented yet.
Scorsese has assembled a stellar cast that includes Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Kyle Chandler, Jean Dujardin, Jon Favreau, Margot Robbie, Jon Bernthal, Cristin Milioti, and Rob Reiner.
The Wolf of Wall Street will be in theaters everywhere on November 15th. What do you think of the trailer?
