The Witch sounds like your typical genre horror film, but after watching the trailer I can safely say that Robert Eggers‘ The Witch looks like a different beast entirely.
It’s been receiving some strong festival praise and I can definitely see why between the film’s uniquely atmospheric and chilling visuals.
It also looks to be structured in a simple manner, with the terror slowly oozing out with each and every new frame.
I’m all for horror that’s actually startling and not afraid to be a little different.
