Once Steven Soderbergh’s Side Effects arrives to theaters next February, there’s only one more film he plans to release and that’ll be it for the director. His final film is the HBO biopic Behind The Candelabra starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. Based on Scott Thorson’s memoir Behind The Candelabra: My Life With Liberace, the film tells the story of pianist Wladziu Valentino Liberace (Michael Douglas) and his lover Thorson (Matt Damon). Liberace was supposedly a very private man up until his death from AIDS in 1987. Recently, HBO has begun marketing by releasing a few images of the film online. You can check them out below:
Behind The Candelabra is set for a premiere at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. No official premiere date has been set as of yet by HBO. It’s assumed that it’ll premiere later next year.
