First Look At Steven Soderbergh’s Male Stripper Film Magic Mike, Starring Channing Tatum

Steven Soderbergh‘s newest film Magic Mike stars Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey as male strippers. It sounds incredibly odd, but very Soderbergh. EW (via The Film Stage) has an exclusive first look at the film, with a few brief seconds of footage, with some annoying voiceovers layered on top. The full trailer will hit tomorrow, but at least now we know what to expect.

I’ve always been a fan of Soderbergh, even if I personally didn’t care for some of his films. Contagion was a disappointment for me, but Haywire was an ass-kicking fun ride. Magic Mike sounds so completely different than both of those films, which is why I really want to see it.

Plus, Tatum is slowly starting to break out of his mold, recently starring in the hilarious 21 Jump Street.

Does Magic Mike sound like something you’d give a chance?

The film opens on June 29th, 2012.
