First Look At Russell Crowe In Darren Aronofsky’s Noah

Darren Aronofsky is currently hard at work making his biblical epic film Noah. It’s been a dream project of his ever since Requiem for a Dream shocked the world back in 2000. With each new film since then Aronofsky has managed to get darker and more complex.

His most recent film, Black Swan, earned Natalie Portman an Oscar for her obsessive commitment to the role, which was scarier and more unsettling than any recent horror film. Noah proposes a different Aronofsky, with a much more massive set to house the epic scale of the story and the dozens of characters.

Russell Crowe is leading the film and today we have our first glimpse at him (via USA Today). He looks like the usual bearded Crowe, but that doesn’t lessen the impact or excitement for the film.

I strongly believe Aronofsky’s Noah will be one of the best films of 2014 and I’m basing that on this picture alone. I trust that Aronofsky will deliver a film unlike anything before it.

Noah opens on March 28th, 2014.
