Warner Brothers is on the fast track with Wrath of the Titans, the Clash of the Titans sequel none of us wanted, but are getting anyways. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 30th, 2012. Jonathan Liebesman will be taking over director duties this time around with Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Danny Huston returning in their various roles.
Clash of the Titans managed to suck like no other film has sucked before when it came out in horseshit 3D last year, but for some reason it made a decent load of cash at the box office, which means sequels galore. I’m sure if this one does mildly good, they’ll give the go ahead for yet another sequel. I hope Liebesman learns from Leterrier’s mistakes this time around. Clash was a massive bore both in story and in action. The 3D (or lack thereof) made it an even worse experience.
This first picture features Worthington’s Perseus sporting some long hair, which is a positive change from his oddly short hairdo in the first film.
I’m not expecting much of anything from Wrath of the Titans, but it would be kind of awesome if it didn’t completely suck.
We’ll see in March…
