I never realized how hellbent Lucasfilm was on reminding us that J.J. Abrams‘ latest film will surely be the last “Saga” entry in this never-ending franchise.

On Monday, Lucasfilm dropped the last trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which is leaning hard on being the finale that we’ve been building up to for years.

Disregard the fact that there are other trilogies set in place and endless spin-offs and TV shows.

Still, this final trailer doesn’t really reveal any new bits of the plot or anything remotely new, if I am being completely honest.

It is good to see Abrams’ visual talents back in action — The Rise of Skywalker already looks 100 times more beautiful than the pile of steaming trash known as The Last Jedi.

Let’s just hope the story can live up to the hype and course-correct all of the wrongdoings of the last installment.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens in theaters this December, with tickets on sale now.

What are your thoughts on the final trailer?
