The Avengers may have the lay of the land on the big screen right now, but DC Entertainment is sure making one heck of a come back on television, bringing their latest show, Gotham, to FOX next week.
The show, which features the likes of Jim Gordon, a young Bruce Wayne and many other of Batman’s famous villains, before they were known, focuses on the beating heart of Gotham, which is where all of the caped-crusaders adventures take place.
I am somewhat interested in seeing what FOX and DC have in store for us, especially knowing that Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is in the pipeline, as well as a few other big DC character solo-films and a whole slew of new DC-based T.V. shows that have started to become popular and make way for even more characters to share the spotlight with.
Will you be giving the show a shot? I for one definitely will, because I’ve always been a bigger fan of DC and their universe of dark characters, opposed to Marvel‘s somewhat more kid-friendly bunch of superheros.
I’m also very curious to see how much Bruce Wayne and Batman play into this, if much at all, but that doesn’t take away from my excitement and hopes for some of Batman’s lesser-known foes to get some much-needed screen time and exposure.
This new teaser may be short and quick, but it focuses on some big names and hints at what’s in store for us once the show premieres tonight (8/7 Central on FOX), which features a strong cast (Jada Pinkett Smith, Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue)
