Looks like director Fede Alvarez is transitioning from blood-soaked horror to sci-fi. According to Heat Vision, Evil Dead director Fede Alvarez is set to direct an original and mysterious sci-fi project titled Machina, which Media Rights Capital just picked up the rights to.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for now. All that’s known so far is that Alvarez is co-writing the script with his collaborator Rodo Sayagues. The South American director is most well known for his short film Panic Attack, which featured giant robots attacking Uruguay. The short captured attention and led him to a deal to develop an original project for Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures banner. Who knows whatever happened to this original project but it looks like Alvarez will be developing Machina first. While it’s unclear what Machina will be about, I’m most certainly intrigued.
Check back for more updates on Machina as they come our way.
