Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) has a new film coming out later this year titled The World’s End. It’s supposed to be the closing film for his Cornetto trilogy, which most of us have been anticipating ever since Hot Fuzz dropped a bomb on us years ago.
The film was originally slated for an October release, but now it looks like it has been bumped up to August 23rd, which puts it up against the highly-buzzed horror film You’re Next.
This is awesome news, because now we’ll have two amazing movies to see in one weekend. This is also shitty news, because one of the films is going to have to lose to the other. I hope they both do good business, but I got my money on Wright pulling in the win.
Regardless, an Edgar Wright film to end the summer on a good note sounds like a bloody good time to me.
