I could say a lot of bad things about Adam Sandler‘s 50 First Dates, but I didn’t actually hate the film, which is more than I can say for his most recent stuff. That’s probably due to me really liking Drew Barrymore and also because every once and a while Sandler actually tones down his shtick for something that’s sort of adorable and dumb.
The two will be re-teaming for a romantic comedy for WB, which is being described as, “a couple who, after a disastrous blind date, find themselves stuck together with their kids from a previous marriage.”
I’ll take it, just as long as there isn’t a Nick Swardson cameo or too many jokes about how our youth is obsessed with staying inside and not exploring the great outdoors.
Hopefully Barrymore can balance out Sandler’s dryer than dry comedy, because it’s been far too long since I’ve actually laughed at Sandler intentionally.
Could this one be something you can get behind? Or are you waiting it out for Grown Ups 2?
