Netflix And Disney Team Up On Streaming Deal

Netflix announced this morning a partnership with Disney to have exclusive streaming rights to their library starting this fall. For those of you who aren’t aware, this also means that movies from Pixar, Lucasfilm and Marvel will also stream exclusively on Netflix. Netflix hasn’t announced specifically that Star Wars or Toy Story or Captain America will show up on their streaming service immediately, but this is by far the closest we have ever been to streaming Luke Skywalker on a whim.

This is obviously huge for Netflix because not only is Disney’s catalog massive, but this is a leg up on their competitors. Amazon, Hulu, and HBO are not a part of this deal so they will not get the Disney catalog. Even better for Netflix, this should help curb any remaining notion of there being a lack of name-brand content to consume. All in all, this is a huge partnership for Netflix to secure and will heavily benefit their customers.
