There has been quite an uproar on change.org with a petition circulating around the internet directed towards The Detroit Lions to change their Thanksgiving Day halftime act. This would all sound unreasonable and just childish if it wasn’t this particular band: Nickelback.
Yes, there is truly a petition out there to change Nickelback as the halftime show for The Detroit Lions Thanksgiving game. Petition writer Dennis Guttman states in the invocation:
This game is nationally televised, do we really want the rest of the US to associate Detroit with Nickelback? Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they chose Nickelback?!?!?! Does anyone even like Nickelback?
Sure that may seem a little unreasonable, but so far, nearly 27,000 people have signed it. That goes to show how many people truly dislike Nickelback. Let us not forget the Facebook fan page “I bet this Pickle can get more fans than Nickelback“, in which a picture of a pickle successfully gained more fans than Nickelback.
Yes the Canadian band may be trying to promote their new album Here and Now that releases around Thanksgiving, but obviously the Detroit fans want no part of it.
If you are at all interested in signing the petition, click here to make your voice be heard and stop Lions fans from this unfair torture.
