Denzel Washington To Direct The August Wilson Play ‘Fences’

Denzel Washington has always been a hard working individual in Hollywood, often-times switching out between acting, directing, producing and even doing some time on Broadway when the mood strikes.

His latest project is to direct the August Wilson play Fences, which he starred in on Broadway back in 2010.

The play is about a sanitation worker that comes to terms with the fact that his baseball dreams will probably never happen and he’ll most likely collect garbage for the rest of his life. It sounds pretty depressing, but the content is just ripe for a high-quality drama that I’d love to see.

While revealing that bit of news Washington also briefly commented on Safe House 2, saying that he thinks it’s dead. Not a problem for me, because I thought Safe House was fairly disappointing and something that I’d not like to see a sequel to.

Are you looking forward to Fences? Or were you really holding out for Safe House 2?
