Darren Aronofsky‘s big-budget passion project Noah has finally received a release date from distributors Paramount Pictures, confirmed by Box Office Mojo.
The film, starring Russell Crowe, will be released on March 28th, 2014.
This news strikes me as odd because of the timing. The film is getting released too early in the year to be considered Oscar bait and it’s still too early for a summer marketing campaign. March is kind of the tail end of dumping grounds, but it’s also been the home of some great films.
I doubt the film will be making big bucks if it sticks with the March release, which is something I know Aronofsky doesn’t care about, but surely the studio wants to turn a profit?
Will you be seeing Noah when it comes out?
