Colin Trevorrow Confirmed To Direct ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody, especially after Colin Trevorrow directed Jurassic World – which is the highest grossing film of the year and one of the highest grossing movies of all time.

Now, the director is moving onto an even bigger franchise, with confirmations that he’ll be helming Star Wars: Episode IX for Disney and Lucasfilm.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this one, especially having not seen what J.J. Abrams is going to do with The Force Awakens.

One thing I do know for sure and that is that Trevorrow is no Abrams, which leaves me worried thinking about the idea of a Star Wars film without any true vision or style. Trevorrow has yet to prove to me that he can add his own touch to a film, with Safety Not Guaranteed proving to be a fluke after viewing the disastrous Jurassic World.

Hopefully he’s learned a thing or two between that and Episode IX.
