When it was announced that Chris Pine (Star Trek Into Darkness and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) has joined the cast of Horrible Bosses 2, Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz was reportedly in contentions to play his father. At first, Waltz reportedly declined due to a scheduling conflict. Apparently a deal has been reached as The Hollywood Reporter reports that Waltz will be appearing in the sequel after all.
Waltz will play a father and son duo that causes trouble for the three main leads (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and Jason Sudeikis) after stealing their idea for an invention. In addition to the casting of Waltz, The Hollywood Reporter also notes that both Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Spacey have signed on for the sequel as well. It’ll be interesting to see what role capacity they’ll have.
Sex Drive and That’s My Boy director Sean Anders will be directing from a screenplay by himself and his writing partner John Morris (She’s Out Of My League and Hot Tub Time Machine). The duo recently wrote the screenplay for this summer’s We’re The Millers.
Horrible Bosses 2 will be released on November 26th, 2014. Make sure to check back for more updates as they come our way.
