With lead roles in the upcoming The LEGO Movie and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Parks & Recreation star Chris Pratt is on the verge of becoming a bigger name as he’s currently in talks for another blockbuster role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pratt is in talks to join the cast of Jurassic World. Apparently this is the same role that Josh Brolin was offered but reportedly turned down.
Note that Pratt is only in talks so there’s still a chance that he might not even sign on. Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, and Nick Robinson have already joined the cast of the film.
Production is expected to begin in early 2014 in Hawaii, so it’s expected that we’ll discover some story details soon enough as production nears. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are producing the sequel. Steven Spielberg, who’s reportedly heavily involved with the casting process, is executive producing.
Jurassic World will arrive in theaters on June 12th, 2015. Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) will direct the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Derek Connolly. Pratt can next be seen in the Vince Vaughn-comedy The Delivery Man, which opens in theatres on November 22nd.
