Netflix continues to be a dominant force for movies. Last night, a trailer ran during a commercial break for the Oscars, which promoted Netflix’s latest original film, Bright.
Bright stars Will Smith as a cop that works side-by-side with orks and elves. It sounds like a wild and crazy concept and the trailer mostly delivers on that premise.
This is a David Ayer joint, which means craziness is to be expected. It definitely has a R.I.P.D. feel to it, but more dark and gritty (surprised?).
I just can’t believe Netflix is releasing this across its streaming platforms instead of taking it to theaters.
This is an Ayer/Smith production and they’re walking around acting like it’s no big deal.
