While promoting Skyfall at CinemaCon this year, Sony’s President of Worldwide Distribution, Rory Bruer, announced the plans of Bond getting a new film every 2 years, hopefully starring Daniel Craig.
This will coincide with plans setup between Sony, MGM and EON. I’m all for a new Bond film every two years, as long as they spend enough time on the script and making everything work. I remember the disappointing feeling that Quantum of Solace left me with and I partially blame that on the quick turnaround after Casino Royale.
This is also the first Bond film that Daniel Craig can decline, if he so chooses, but I don’t see that being a problem for a few more years. Yes, the work playing Bond is probably incredibly time-consuming and physically straining, but as long as the money keeps rolling his way I don’t see it being a problem.
Skyfall hits theaters on November 9th, 2012 and Bond 24 will follow sometime in 2014.
