It’s undeniable that Bill Hader has a left a void when he left Saturday Night Live this past year, but he’s on his way to make his mark on the big screen. Variety reports that Hader will be joining Judd Apatow’s upcoming comedy Trainwreck opposite Amy Schumer.
Plot details are being kept mostly under wraps. All we know at this point is that the film follows a basket case (Schumer) as she tries to gain control her life. It’s unclear what role Hader will have in the film, but it’s been reported that he will be playing the main character’s boyfriend.
Hader has been receiving rave reviews for his performance opposite Kristen Wiig in Craig Johnson’s drama The Skeleton Twins, which recently premiered this past month at the Sundance Film Festival. He also has not just one but two roles in upcoming Pixar movies Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur. Additionally, he can next be seen in the romantic drama The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby later this year.
Apatow will be directing Trainwreck from a script written by Schumer. The comedy will be released nationwide on July 24th, 2015.
