Rumors have been flying off the shelf for Ridley Scott‘s new film, Prometheus. First, it was an Alien prequel, then it wasn’t and now people are reporting about seeing Xenomorph’s on the set! Clearly the film has some sort of ties to the Alien films, they don’t want to tell us exactly how just yet and that’s okay, I love surprises!
The film already features an all-star cast like Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba and Guy Pearce. Now JoBlo is reporting that Ben Foster has joined the cast! This really is some awesome news! Ben Foster has always been a great actor and very underrated. He was fantastic in Alpha Dog, 3:10 to Yuma, The Messenger and Hostage. He also managed to make decent movies a little better because of his performance, like Pandorum. I really liked the setting of Pandorum, but the rest of the acting was shitty and the story jumped around from being serious to silly way too often, but one thing’s for sure, Ben Foster carried the film.
In addition to the news about Ben Foster, we also can now provide you a brief synopsis for Prometheus:
Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.
Prometheus is scheduled for release on June 8th, 2012 in 3D. Check back for more information as we get it!
