At last, the first domestic trailer and poster have finally arrived for Abdellatif Kechiche’s sexually charged French drama Blue is the Warmest Color. The film has been met with positive and negative buzz surrounding its eroticism. The film, which chronicles the relationship between two young women (Lea Seydoux and Adele Exarchopoulos), premiered earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival where it earned rave reviews and it won the prestigious Palme d’Or. Check out the trailer and poster below to catch a glimpse at what the fuss is all about.
Lately the film has been in the news for more than just its controversial and reportedly “exploitive” sex scenes. From the author of the graphic novel slamming the adaptation to stars Lea Seydoux and Adele Exarchopoulos claiming that they’ll never work with the director again, it seems like all of the bad press will have an affect on its success but don’t think too fast. Ever since at premiered at Cannes, the film has been slowly rolling out into theaters and film festivals where it has been receiving more critical and audience acclaim.
Sundance Selects will be releasing Blue is the Warmest Color in limited theaters on October 25th. What do you think?
