Asa Butterfield Cast As New ‘Spider-Man’

Marvel has been on a hot streak as of late, with Avengers: Age of Ultron proving to be a box office mega-performer, while they’re aggressively planning the next Phase in their Cinematic Universe.

One of the biggest items that people wanted closed out on was the upcoming Spider-Man. I wrote not too long ago about the directors short list, which is still being talked about, while today we have breaking news surrounding the casting of a young Peter Parker aka Spider-Man.

It looks like Ender’s Game and Hugo star Asa Butterfield will be playing the future Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with a rumored first appearance in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.

After that, Sony should have their reboot underway, with possible Avengers tie-ins as well.

Are you excited about the announcement?

I personally loved Andrew Garfield‘s version of the character and am sad knowing that there won’t be an Amazing Spider-Man 3.
