WB and DC don’t seem to have much luck these days. First, Batman v Superman kinda got destroyed by critics and audiences alike and then Suicide Squad got assaulted too.
Dope‘s Rick Famuyiwa has exited the project, citing creative differences as the core root:
While it’s disappointing that we couldn’t come together creatively on the project, I remain grateful for the opportunity. I will continue to look for opportunities to tell stories that speak to a fresh generational, topical, and multicultural point of view. I wish Warner Brothers, DC, Jon Berg, Geoff Johns, and Ezra Miller all the best as they continue their journey into the speed force.
Can they recover? Will they find a director using the speed of light or will they simply push the project off and continue their hot streak of sloppy and rushed comic book movies that some of us like, but most of us hate?
