It seems like only yesterday the original American Pie came out, followed by two good sequels and a wave of straight to DVD shit. Now, in the current tradition of remakes and sequels comes American Reunion, a film that I really don’t think is needed, but one I will welcome, since the original cast is back. The film is coming out on April 6th, 2012 and so far production has been kept rather quiet.
A teaser trailer has been released, but I’m not sure if it can actually be considered a trailer. It features still images of the original cast having fun as usual. I’m kind of curious to see how this one turns out. I hope it can rekindle the flames of the original trilogy and not end up as another failed sequel to stuff we use to like! I was never a huge American Pie fan, but I enjoyed them for what they were.
Check out the teaser below, thanks to The Film Stage.
It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim and Michelle married while Kevin and Vicky said goodbye. Oz and Heather grew apart, but Finch still longs for Stifler’s mom. Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce about—and get inspired by—the hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend.
