Alfonso Cuaron Might Reteam With J.K. Rowling For ‘Fantastic Beasts’

Most will agree that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is by far the best Harry Potter film. Sure, the source material definitely weighed in heavily, but also the director, which was Alfonso Cuaron, who went on to make Children of Men and last year’s critically acclaimed Gravity.

Cuaron is no stranger to success, because he’s a fantastic director with an excellent style that can’t really be matched. His visions tend to make good material better and the idea of him reteaming with author J.K. Rowling to bring her Harry Potter spinoff series to the big screen is some of the best news that I’ve read all day.

Apparently, the two are in close talks for Cuaron to direct Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is on track for a November 18th, 2016 release.

Cuaron hit a home run with Gravity, so one would imagine that he has his fair share of projects to pick and choose from, but I really hope he decides on this one, because he’d definitely be the man to make a film that most are still scratching their head over, wondering if it’s just another cash grab or a new set of stories for Rowling to expand upon her ever-growing wizarding world of creatures and characters.

Are you more excited about the film, knowing that Cuaron might be helming it?
