If there’s one film that I’m really looking forward to, it’s The Amazing Spider-Man. Make no mistake, Prometheus and The Dark Knight Rises are my two most anticipated films of the summer, but for some reason I’m really looking forward to seeing how The Amazing Spider-Man turns out. It’s easily the biggest gamble of the summer, with Sony basically riding on its outcome to determine where to go from here.
I’m almost certain it will do solid numbers overseas, but what about in the US? Will audiences react positively to another Spider-Man film this quick after Sam Raimi‘s third installment?
Initially, I shrugged off the idea of a reboot, but the more I see the more I like. Judging by the clips alone I really think Marc Webb has established a completely new Spidey with a new back story, costume and those awesome web shooters we loved from the cartoons/comics!
The latest trailer has me sold and I’ll be there on day one regardless of what the early reviews say out of the gate.
A new international poster has popped up (thanks to Tim over at CHUD) and I absolutely love it. Right away it differentiates itself from the previous films by showing the shooter, new costume and darker look on the city.
What are your thoughts on the poster and The Amazing Spider-Man‘s marketing so far? Are you in or are you out?
The Amazing Spider-Man swings its way into 3D IMAX screens on July 3rd, 2012.
