David Cronenberg is a master of his craft. He is responsible for amazing films like Eastern Promises, A History of Violence, Videodrome and The Fly. He is so good with dark material. I’ve always enjoyed his brutal and violent way of film making and whenever word spreads about his newest projects I begin to build anticipation.
His newest film, A Dangerous Method is about the very beginning of psychoanalysis. When guys like Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung were around. We have bad ass Viggo Mortensen playing Freud and the rising star Michael Fassbender playing Jung, with supporting roles by Keira Knightley and Vincent Cassel.
If those names above don’t make you interested in seeing this film at all then go fuck yourself. This looks awesome in almost every way. It’s a dark look at beginning of modern psychology with solid director at the helm and several big names to supply us with some awesome performances. This film just jumped to the top of my must see list and it should be on yours as well.
A Dangerous Method doesn’t have an official release date yet, but it is scheduled for release sometime around fall of this year. Check out the trailer below, thanks to CHUD:
