For those of you excited to finally feast your eyes upon Zack Snyder‘s Justice League, look no further for prep work. Yesterday, WB dropped a 4K (in HDR) trailer onto YouTube for the remaster of Zack Snyder‘s widely debated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Cut, which is getting a 4K remaster on both 4K digital and 4K Blu-ray.
This release will feature a new color grading, approved by Snyder himself, as well as expanding IMAX ratios for the footage that was captured/presented in the IMAX format during its original theatrical presentation.
This new edition came about when Zack was actually watching a digital version of the film and noticed that the color was “all wrong” and absolutely had to be fixed. I’m not one to complain, as I have been begging to see those IMAX shots restored proper.
This new trailer looks absolutely gorgeous and that’s not even viewing it on a less compressed 4K UHD disc.
The digital copy is also hitting HBO Max just in time for the release of Justice League, dropping early this week, with the disc (sadly) coming the following Tuesday. Word around the campfire is they weren’t expecting the move up in dates of JL and the push back of Godzilla vs. Kong, which is why the disc is stuck coming out after Justice League drops onto HBO Max this Thursday.
I for one cannot wait to revisit Batman v Superman on a newly-pressed 4K disc and look forward to pairing it with the long-awaited and highly-anticipated Justice League.
What are your thoughts on all of the Zack Snyder DC superhero talk? Are you excited to see his new cuts or are you sick of his style and hoping DC looks elsewhere to restart their somewhat failed DC-U?
