300 Sequel Gets A New Title

There was once talk of a 300 prequel that was going to be called 300: Battle of Artemisia. It was going to follow the rise of the powerful leader known as Xerxes, but now Deadline is confirming a title change and with this new title comes a more expansive story.

300: Rise of an Empire is what it’s going to be called and it will follow several factions in Greece during the time of the first film. Rodrigo Santoro will be reprising his role as Xerxes among other less-notable stars.

Noam Murro is still at the helm based on a screenplay by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad.

300: Rise of an Empire opens in theaters on August 2nd ,2013.
