WB Talking About A Prequel To The Shining

Stanley Kubrick‘s The Shining is one of the best horror films of all-time and that is never going to change. Jack Nicholson’s character still gives me the chills today and the way Kubrick established such a dreadful atmosphere is unreal.

Stephen King has been talking about expanding The Shining universe, which isn’t all that shocking or appalling, but it looks like Warner Bros. is also considering a prequel to the classic film.

LA Times reports that the studio has gone ahead and hired James Vanderbilt, Bradley Fischer and Laeta Kalogridis to try and write a story surrounding the life of Jack before the events of The Shining.

This sounds like a horrible concept and I really do hope that they come up with nothing, because Kubrick’s film is complete and doesn’t need any furthering.

Do you think they should develop any sort of prequel or sequel to The Shining?
