Visually Pleasing Trailer For Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby In 3D

Baz Luhrmann isn’t a particular favorite director of mine, but I can’t deny the man’s visual eye and talent for making some of the most beautiful scenery in film history. Each and every film he directs is always exploding with rich color and lots of activity, which makes Luhrmann a wildcard.

His latest adaptation is of F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s The Great Gatsby and Luhrmann has managed to score Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire and Joel Edgerton. Gatsby is also Luhrmann’s first attempt at a 3D film and judging by this visually pleasing trailer I think it’s safe to say that Luhrmann and 3D was meant to be.

The trailer kicks things off with Kanye West and Jay-Z‘s No Church In the Wild and just like that the mood and tone is formed. The rest of the trailer has some high and low points, but it’s mostly something to enjoy.

The Great Gatsby opens in theaters on December 25th, 2012.
