Look, it’s been way too long since we’ve gotten a Terminator film that was actually any good. Terminator: Genysis was uninspired, while Terminator: Salvation was the very definition of garbage.

I’ll still take Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines over those two, despite it not being all that great either. At least it stuck with an R-rating and at least it felt like a continuation of the series, even if that continuation was poorly conceived and mostly borrowed the plot of the second film.

But have no fear, creator James Cameron is back on board as a producer, with Deadpool‘s Tim Miller directing. Linda Hamilton is returning, as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger and even Edward Furlong as John Connor.

Terminator: Dark Fate will be picking up after the first two installments, with a new adventure set to unfold.

This latest clip is brief and doesn’t show much, but what it does show is excitement towards the dying franchise. I really hope this same energy was actually put into the script and overall direction, because we are overdue for a good Terminator flick.

Don’t you agree?
