The Rock Tackles ‘Big Trouble In Little China’ Remake

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the most charismatic stars acting in Hollywood today. He’s not only one of the better action superstars, but he’s also very funny too and brings an all-around presence to the screen that can’t be matched.

His latest film San Andreas is proving to be a big success for him at WB, which means the signings of his next solo outings are going to be coming to the front-lines as he gains more and more traction.

The latest rumor turned something is that Johnson will star in a remake of the Kurt Russell/John Carpenter classic Big Trouble in Little China.

Carpenter remakes are rarely of any quality, plus copying a role that helped earn Kurt Russell cult status is one that I’d approach with extreme caution.

I’m not exactly sure why Johnson would want to tackle this picture, especially when he’d do far better making his own film, which would pay homage to Little China and not be an exact copy.

Did anyone see the recent Poltergeist remake? Exactly my point.
