Good news for fans of the British comedy series, The IT Crowd. After long teasing the fans about a potential special finale, series creator Graham Linehan announced at an IT Crowd Q&A in Germany that they will begin production for the finale in just three weeks.
The script for the special was written over a year ago, but due to scheduling constraints (and pregnancies), they couldn’t pull the main cast together for it. Thankfully, they were able to get the cast together more recently and schedule a time to make this finale for a series that many felt never had a proper ending.
Returning will of course be Chris O’Dowd, Richard Ayoade, Katherine Parkinson, and Matt Berry.
I for one am excited to see the show back, even if it is just a 40-minute special. Watching through the series twice now on Netflix makes me want more of this delightful comedy. I was rather let down to find the last episode wasn’t even much of a send off, but was optimistic of something more. A special finale seems like a great way to send off the show without dragging it out like some shows tend to do in their remaining years.
If you haven’t already, I suggest you check out all 4 series of The IT Crowd for some good, fun British comedy. And in case of emergency, don’t forget to call 0118 999 881 99 9119 725…3.
