The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers sold out screens across the world for their respective opening midnight screenings. Peter Jackson‘s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is for sure going to be doing the same across 2D, 3D and IMAX screens worldwide. I doubt the 48fps screens will be doing most of the selling out, but expect a few screens at your local megaplex to be jammed packed with Lord of the Rings and Hobbit fans as they patiently await the first film of a planned trilogy that brings J.R.R. Tolkien‘s book to life.
WB (via BoxOffice.com) has announced that advanced tickets for the film will go on sale starting November 7th. This gives you more than enough time to save up and reserve your seat for one of the last big events of the year.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens on December 14th, 2012.
