The Dictator Gets Pushed Back

Stop the presses! Major news is about to follow! Deadline is reporting that Paramount has moved back the latest Sacha Baron Cohen comedy The Dictator. The film was originally scheduled to open on May 11th, up against Tim Burton‘s Dark Shadows, but it looks like they’ve had a change of heart and decided to push the film back until the following week on May 16th.

The reason is more than likely the tone of Burton’s Dark Shadows, which is selling itself more as a comedy than another one of his darkly weird Johnny Depp films. It still has all of the makings for a Burton/Depp reunion, but it’s definitely playing more as a funny film.

Now comes the big question, would you have seen The Dictator over Dark Shadows?
