Two long-awaited films that have been in the works for years now look like they might finally be coming to a theater near you.
The first one up is the Arrested Development movie, which has been talked about for years and years now. Will Arnett stopped by The Today Show and confirmed that the new 10-episode miniseries will begin shooting this summer with the movie to film directly after. Vulture says the miniseries will air sometime in the first half of 2013!
The second long-awaited film is Robert Rodriguez‘s Sin City sequel, which is now titled Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, which will be based on Frank Miller‘s graphic novel. The screenplay was co-written by William Monahan. Deadline is reporting that Rodriguez wants Michelle Williams and Mel Gibson in the film. Talk about one odd pairing…
Here are some quotes from Rodriguez as well as Frank Miller and Bob Weinstein:
“The first question I am always asked is “When will you make another Sin City?. I have wanted to re-team with Frank Miller and return to the world he created since the day we wrapped the original, but have felt a duty to the fans to wait until we had something truly exceptional that would meet and exceed what have become epic expectations. A Dame To Kill For will certainly be worth the wait.”
“The first Sin City knocked out audiences who had never seen anything like it before. Robert Rodriguez and I are going to shake things up and deliver a ferocious film experience that is going to go even further than the first.“
“Audiences have been clamoring for Sin City 2 with Robert and Frank for a long time and trust me, it will be worth the wait. This will be my 11th collaboration with Robert in 16 years and he’s become a great friend. I look forward to continuing our long lasting relationship and partnering on more projects in the future.”
Production for Sin City 2 will begin this summer.
