Red Band Trailer For Goon

Michael Dowse‘s new film, Goon looks like one fun ride. After getting the shaft with the highly under-rated Take Me Home Tonight, Dowse is back directing a hockey comedy starring Seann William Scott, Liev Schreiber, Jay Baruchel (who also co-wrote the script) and Alison Pill.

The first trailer we posted a while back was very tame and kind of boring, but this latest red band trailer, provided by IGN is hilarious and incredibly bloody. It looks like a fun time and more importantly it looks like something Seann William Scott can attach his name to and be proud. I’ve always enjoyed his small roles in other films and its taken way too long for him to find something good to star in.

Goon will be playing on demand starting February 24th, 2012 with a theatrical run to follow on March 30th.

Synopsis:

Doug Glatt is a gentle giant who’s lethal with his fists but reluctant to use them. That is, until he goes to a hockey game and flattens a visiting player. The next day, while appearing on a web chat show hosted by his best friend, Doug is scouted by the coach of the local minor-league team. Doug’s job? Beat up anyone who gets near Xavier Laflamme, a hotshot player afraid to touch the puck since a devastating hit from legendary enforcer — and Doug’s idol — Ross “The Boss” Rhea.
