Following the success of Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino vaguely announced last fall that his next film would be another western. No additional details were known until much recently as Deadline reports that the working title for Tarantino’s next western is The Hateful Eight.
According to the report, the first draft of the script is completed and is being shown to actors that the director wants for the film. Who are the actors he’s hoping to cast? Apparently Tarantino is eyeing at casting Christoph Waltz, the actor that has earned Oscars for his performances in both Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained, and the legendary Bruce Dern, who most recently earned an Oscar nomination for his performance in Alexander Payne’s black-and-white comedy Nebraska.
Unfortunately, these are all of the details that are known so far about The Hateful Eight. It’s not confirmed yet if Waltz and Dern will sign onto the film but it’s certainly a great prospect since they’re both extremely talented actors. It’s rumored that Tarantino wants to start shooting the film this summer but with only the first draft of the screenplay written, that might not be plausible. Make sure to check back for more updates as they come our way.
